Trip Ideas

Arts, Culture and History in Richmond

Richmond is a magnet for history buffs who could joyously spend days exploring heritage sites and museums that showcase this island municipality's glory days as a hub for fishing, salmon canning, ship building and farming. Another big draw is the quaint and relaxing seaside fishing village of Steveston. Then it's time to take in the exhibits at the art gallery and a performance or two at Gateway Theatre. And if you've timed your visit over the Labour Day long weekend, make sure to check out the amazing talent on stage at the Richmond World Festival.
